Brown sets record in CSUF win

first_imgBobby Brown had 29 points and a career-high nine rebounds to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 79-73 victory over visiting UC Santa Barbara Thursday. Brown became Fullerton’s all-time leading scorer by making 1,879 career points, surpassing Leon Wood, who played at Fullerton from 1981-84 is now an NBA referee. Marcus Crenshaw added 23 points for the Titans (19-7, 9-4 Big West). Justin Burns had five blocks. Alex Harris, the Big West Conference’s leading scorer, had a career-high 35 points and eight rebounds for the Gauchos (15-10, 6-5 Big West), who lost their fourth consecutive game. Chris Devine added 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Fullerton broke a 56-56 tie with a 10-0 spurt that gave the Titans a 66-56 lead with 5:49 to play. Crenshaw led the surge with six points. UC Irvine 73, UC Davis 59 Patrick Sanders scored 15 points and Michael Hunter added 13 to lead host UC Irvine to a victory over UC Davis. Mark Kelley scored eight of his 12 points in the game’s first five minutes for the Anteaters (13-16). Dominic Calegari led Davis (4-21) with 21 points and seven rebounds. He scored his team’s first 11 points over a 7-minute, 44-second span, then scored seven in a row in the second half. center_img Cal Poly SLO 70, UC Riverside 54 Titus Shelton scored 13 points and Matt Hansen added 12 as Cal Poly defeated host UC Riverside. Dreshawn Vance and Tyler McGinn added 10 points apiece for the Mustangs (15-10, 6-5 Big West), which won its fourth straight game.
