first_img John Goodman announced as College GameDay guest pickerLSU has confirmed it though, so it looks to be official.John. Freaking. Goodman.See ya tomorrow for @CollegeGameDay! pic.twitter.com/RTLi6weJp6— LSU Football (@LSUfootball) October 11, 2019LSU hosts Florida this weekend, in a matchup of SEC teams ranked in the top seven. It is the second straight week that Florida will be involved in the game featured on the show. Florida beat Auburn in Gainesville last weekend after hosting College GameDay.Earlier in the week, there were rumors that one of the most famous new New Orleanians, Pelicans No. 1 pick Zion Williamson, would get the nod. That was shot down pretty quickly, as fun as it would have been, given how he’s taken NBA Preseason by storm in recent weeks.Goodman is a pretty great selection though. He’s a bona fide A-lister, he has a football background, he has a connection to the area, and he should be a very entertaining picker. He also has a pair of things to promote, one of which is a Disney property. John Goodman stars in the ABC sitcom The Conners, a spin-off of Roseanne, which is currently in its second season. He is also on HBO’s Sunday night comedy The Righteous Gemstones, which wraps up its final season this weekend. Superstar actor John Goodman will be the guest picker.Goodman grew up in Missouri, and was a college football player himself. He earned a scholarship to play at Missouri State. He’s lived in Louisiana for a long time now, and he’s pretty ingrained in the culture of New Orleans. He’s a pretty natural fit with the show making its way to the Bayou.GameDay made the announcement moments ago, but somewhat strangely deleted the tweet minutes later.last_img read more
